Making our main credits

Today we made the credit sequence where our film name 'Take off after' will be introduced. For this we used the burning of a mask with the words take off after written on it. We used fire lighters underneath the mask that burnt through it to give a scary feel.

We used all 4 masks to get lots of shots so we have a variety of shots to choose from and were able to work out where to put the fire lighters in order to gain the best result.

To promote popularity for our film we have tapped into the social media form of Facebook as the film 'Shifty' and huge amounts of other films use Facebook to promote awareness for their films.

Film poster

To attract our audience to come to watch our film, it needs a poster as every film generally has a poster to support its release.

We chose ours by taking our favorite visual image in our film and using it as the main image then by using the white background the black text is the best possible colour co ordination.

Soundtrack creation

We have created our soundtrack and took a screen shot to show what it looks like when not in the film on logic pro.

Health and Safety

As we all know in our health and safety controlled lives we have to be very careful what we do in some environments, films are no different and are if anything the strictest on health and safety as if something were to go wrong the actors could take the film producers to court over it. In our film generally heath and safety isn't too much of an issue as we only have very low levels of safety to worry about such as wearing a seat belt during the filming where the car is moving. However we have a sequence right at the end of our production where the title of our film, 'take off after' is written on a mask that is lit on fire, in order to achieve this we will wright on the mask then when using the paraffin to make sure the mask lights on fire we will only use a small amount at first as a test and slowly increase the levels until we feel it gives the right effect meaning that we don't use too much and create an unsafe situation. We will control the environment in which we do the fire sequence so that there is nothing else than can set on fire as a result of the mask being lit on fire and have a fire extinguisher present so the fire after filming can be put out safely and effectively.

Creating the soundtrack

We have created our own soundtrack to accompany our film. We ended up with three different soundtracks which we could not decide of which to use so this gave us a perfect time to get feedback on both our film and the soundtrack so that we could edit any bit of the film that everyone didn't like before it was too late and help decide which soundtrack was best suited for our film. We recorded the three soundtracks on a hand held recorder and played them to each person over the film whilst playing. Next lesson we will review our feedback and narrow down which will be best for the film.

Twitter is great as it can be used as a place to say what your thinking give advice and tips or say what you are doing at that present time. You can also follow others and pick up tips and advice from them.

Distributer

We have chosen Metrodome to distribute our film this is because when at the BFI we heard Rory Aitkin talk of how his film 'Shifty 2008' used Metrodome and we see our film as similar to 'Shifty' as it is also very low budget. Metrodome would be good for our production as they gave 'Shifty' 50 screens so we feel that we would be given the same and get our film screened on a very large stage with it being screened all round the country.

Art of the title

This is our Title sequence running throughout the film. The film will start with the Distributor then Producer logo and then director, then as the film goes on each character will be introduced with a close up on them and there name underneath their mask. The driver will have his title when there is a shot of the wing mirror showing him. The film will end with the film name written on the mask then it will be set on fire with the flaming mask melting.

My Roles in our production

At the beginning of our film Alex and I both assigned roles to what we should be doing with our production. We worked very closely with each other.

• We both worked together on thinking up key parts of our films and Storyboard these ideas.
• We both researched English films, agreeing that we should base our film to be in aspects like Guy Ritchie branded films.
• I took responsibility for the editing process.
• We both directed with Alex doing the filming and myself acting whilst both directing.
